Are podcasts a legitimate marketing strategy and should a business or brands really be looking to start a podcast in 2025?

And more importantly...are there even any advantages to starting a podcast as a business??

To put it simply, it all depends on your goals, and what you're trying to achieve...chances are you're not going to be the next Diary Of A CEO...but if you run a business, you probably also don't need to be. You just need to get in front of YOUR specific target audience! Podcasts can also be an incredible platform and enabler for creating content, but the barrier to entry is also higher than ever.

In this episode of the podcast, I sit down with Spike O'Connell, the founder of Podshop, a collection of high-end podcasting studios in Central London. Spike has consulted with and developed over 100 podcasts in a range of industries from traditional media, to B2B organisation to D2C consumer brands. He's also helped new podcasts go from zero to thousands of monthly downloads by following some very fundamental principles.
